Great news for tennis lovers, the 2022 NSW Seniors Tournament coming to Forster has just hit 260 entries! Organisers at Forster Tennis Club are expecting 300 players plus plenty of enthusiastic supporters. Competitors are coming from across NSW plus Victoria, ACT and Queensland.
This tennis tournament has an illustrious history over 30 years, being a National Ranking Tournament and is also the largest Seniors Tournament in New South Wales. When I say ‘seniors’ I mean 30 years and over, which I know makes you feel a little older than you felt yesterday!
Players in this fantastic event can be aged 30 to 85 years old. I asked Brian Adams, the Seniors Tournament Coordinator at the Forster Tennis Club and the oldest competitor in the last 30 years. And yes, this stately gentleman of 92 years will be competing again this year!
The tournament is held across the last weekend of July, starting Friday 29th July and ending Monday 1st August. It’s the perfect time to visit beautiful Forster in all its winter sunshine glory and of course the best place to stay is right here at Sails Apartments.
In fact Sails Apartments is the only accommodation in Forster with a full size tennis court. We’ll be helping the organisers assisting with our court for the Saturday morning session.
